Every Monday (approx.) we will update the Big Man Power Ranking, heavily influenced by the play of the forwards and centers in the prior week’s games.
Larrier (AP)
1Terry Larrier [Last Week: 1]
Larrier struggled for much of the PK80 tournament in his first test against real opponents. At times he appears to lack the strength necessary to get his own shot against physical defenders, and was the primary victim of UConn failing to run an offense focused on getting good looks for its best players. Still, Larrier scored 18 in each game and was UConn’s leading rebounder.

Carlton
2Josh Carlton [5]
Carlton was UConn’s third best big this week, after Larrier and Christian Vital who managed to handle the power forward position for ten minutes against Oregon. Carlton’s skills are still developing but he has shown to be one of the most productive NLBP.

Cobb (Getty)
3Eric Cobb [4]
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Cobb missed the entire PK80 tournament with an ankle injury. While he has been far from dominant this season, the Huskies really could have used him this week.

Diarra (A Dime Back)
4Mamadou Diarra [6]
Diarra finally showed off the rebounding ability he was known for as a high school recruit against Arkansas. His five rebounds in 13 minutes were both career-highs, that he managed to do it while only committing two fouls is even more impressive.

Polley (Stephen Slade)
5Tyler Polley [3]
Polley’s stock has been falling of late and a really poor showing in the PK80 is only accelerating the decline. His body of work this season is undoubtedly better than others ahead of him on this list, but Polley is trending in the wrong direction at the moment.

Onuorah (AP)
6Dave Onuorah [2]
Our excitement over Large Dave may have been premature. Against Power 5 frontcourt competition in Portland, Onuorah looked very much like the center on a 10-18 Cornell team.

Whaley (A Dime Back)

Whaley barely saw the court in Portland this week. Diarra’s decent game will probably keep Whaley low on the depth chart until circumstances change again.

Kwint managed to see the court in UConn’s two losses this week, but didn’t score a point or grab a rebound in his five total minutes.
