Sweet Sixteen Wrap Up

The Ultimate UConn Challenge

It’s been an exciting week here at A Dime Back! We’ve crossed the 10,000-vote mark, and we’ve whittled the field down to just eight players.

Unlike that actual NCAA tournament, our one seeds were worthy of the designation, and they have all made it into the Elite Eight. Ray Allen sent Shabazz packing, Donyell defeated Scott Burrell, Kemba thumped poor Hasheem Thabeet, and Emeka Okafor beat Doron Sheffer.

In sad news, Ricky Moore’s upset run ended when he lost to Caron Butler by a measly 11 votes. I’m very disappointed in all of you.

Our last old school player, Art Quimby fell to Rip Hamilton. The match up you’ve all been waiting for is up next for Rip as he faces Donyell. Get your pitchforks ready, folks. This one could get ugly.

In an absolute squeaker, Khalid El-Amin edged past Chris Smith by a one-vote margin! Peter is very disappointed in all of you. Khalid faces Kemba next, and Okafor has teammate Ben Gordon in his sights this round.

We’ll have one match up per day until we name our final four. Keep voting, and make sure to check back here later today for our first Elite Eight match up between Ray Allen and Caron Butler.
