Rodney Purvis will join UConn teammates Daniel Hamilton and Amida Brimah in declaring for the NBA Draft, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania.
UConn’s Rodney Purvis will declare for the NBA Draft, league sources tell The Vertical. Purvis, a 6-foot-4 guard, won’t hire rep for now.

Like Hamilton and Brimah, Purvis will not hire an agent, maintaining his final year of collegiate eligibility.
As we’ve discussed (twice now), this is a smart move because of the learning experiences and added practice time involved.
Purvis was UConn’s leading scorer this season, averaging 12.8 points per game despite losing his starting spot in January. He cut down on his turnovers on offense, and was the Huskies’ best on-ball defender. Purvis also shot 38.5 percent from the three-point line, a marked improvement from his sophomore season.
Purvis has stated his desire to return to UConn for his redshirt senior season and today’s news does nothing to discredit that. Purvis has acted as a de facto ambassador for the program and genuinely seems to enjoy both the collegiate experience and his time at UConn, specifically.
Unless we hear otherwise, consider these decisions by Purvis, Hamilton and Brimah proper due diligence.
