Every Monday (approx.) we will update the Big Man Power Ranking, heavily influenced by the play of the forwards and centers in the prior week’s games.
1Terry Larrier [Last Time: 1]
Larrier is the team’s second-leading scorer and its leading rebounder (behind, and tied with, Jalen Adams, respectively). He is also the best three-point shooter on the team at the moment. Larrier has endured some ups and downs this season, and has been exposed at times on the defensive end of the court, but the Huskies remain extraordinarily reliant on him putting up double-digit points every night — a task he has consistently completed.

2Isaiah Whaley [5]
Pork Chop has rocketed up this very official ranking in recent weeks, though it remains concerning that more people don’t use the Pork Chop moniker. Whaley played the premiere role in neutralizing actual giant Tacko Fall this week and blocked five UCF shots. He has also demonstrated a good motor and legitimate rebounding ability.

3Mamadou Diarra [2]
Diarra had a quiet week but remains high in the rankings thanks to his efficient rebounding this season. His offensive game is a work in progress, but we are in favor of his dunks and good things seem to happen when Diarra is on the court. Bonus points for his knees not exploding.

4Josh Carlton [4]
Carlton still possesses the most polished offensive game of the Non-Larrier Big People (not a tremendous accomplishment), but he’s been unable to turn that skill into many points this season. He was mostly a non-factor in the Tulsa and ECU games, but did contribute some productive minutes against UCF.

5Kwintin Williams [8]
Kwint is one of the few good stories of the season thus far. After looking lost early in the year, and being buried on the bench, he has been earning more playing time thanks to some really consistent effort paired with some good results. Per-40 minutes, he’s averaging 10.2 points and 11.8 rebounds. He even had a dunk this week!

6Eric Cobb [3]
Cobb is currently suspended indefinitely, reportedly following a dust-up between him and Kevin Ollie. Even before the incident, Cobb has been seeing his minutes drop. His rebounding numbers are still solid but he is nowhere near talented enough for off-court issues to be tolerated.

7Tyler Polley [6]
Polley has seemingly fallen out of favor with Ollie and hasn’t played meaningful minutes in over a month. He showed potential early in the season but at the moment appears to lead the field in the Most Likely To Transfer Category.

8Dave Onuorah [7]
Large Dave didn’t play in a 50-minute game against Tulsa, and didn’t score against ECU or UCF. The Cornell grad transfer doesn’t appear to have the talent necessary to compete in the AAC.
