A solid, if unspectacular, backcourt, led by point guard Mookie Blaylock, should be competitive with most of the teams in this tournament. Where this team shines, though, is up front, with the ever-entertaining Blake Griffin and the utterly dominant Wayman Tisdale. Tisdale holds the distinction of being the only player in NCAA history to be named first-team All-American as a freshman, sophomore, and junior, after which he finally got the hint and went to the NBA. If you’ve got an award named after you, you’re probably really good. Fun fact: Tisdale was also an accomplished smooth jazz bassist. Because of course he was. Coolest guy ever? Maybe.
