Friends, our long national nightmare is over. No, not that one. Azzi Fudd, the number one player and the final holdout in the 2021 class has made it official and chosen her rightful home for the next four years: the University of Connecticut (good).
Azzi announced her choice this morning live on ESPN’s Instagram along with her extremely adorable dog, Stewie. The 5’11” guard is highly regarded for her poise, skill and absolutely lights out shooting.

For real, Azzi can just straight ball.

After her sophomore season, Azzi tore her ACL and MCL playing 3×3 for USA Basketball, and was in the process of rehabbing when the world ended. The Washington D.C. native became close friends with UConn freshman Paige Bueckers (Paige even lived with Azzi for a short time before coming to campus). I assume Paige Buckets was the lead recruiter on this one, so shout Paige.
Fudd will be joining a team that reloaded this season with five freshmen, joining with guard Saylor Poffenbarger, forward Amari DeBerry, and forward Caroline Ducharme to round out the 2021 class. Good luck to literally every other team that tries to beat them for the next few years.
You love to see it.
