Nickname: Hawkeyes

I’ve never understood this nickname. Are the players supposed to be the actual eyes of a hawk? Do they have hawk-like vision? Are they all Alan Alda’s character from MASH? That’s probably it. Anyway, I shockingly forgot to include either Iowa or Iowa State until like two days before I finished this, so pardon me if it seems like I’ve gone off the rails early on this one. This squad is likely to get big numbers from “Downtown” Fred Brown, Don Nelson, and John “JJ” Johnson, with BJ Armstrong providing a steady hand and clutch shooting at the point.
